our tbl today was about antenatal and postnatal care, and while bin was presenting about postnatal care it occurred to me that today the JM at KK Dengkil told me and babe that jamu is not good for breastfeeding mothers whose children have neonatal jaundice. when asked why, she only said that jamu causes the body to become 'panas' and it's not good for the baby. having said that, i was obviously not convinced. evntho jamu is a familiar word, i have never come across it or talked about it, i bought it up during the tbl. we shared loads of info, but then it still wasn't clear to me.
so i decided to do a little reading of myself..wuhoo!

there's a whole blog on jamu as well! wow~while some brands have steroids on 'em, some are homemade. i asked mama if she used jamu and she said that an arwah nenek used to make homemade jamu for her.
one of the climbers who tried to scale mount everest, Asyran Roef Amran also bought jamu to keep his body warm
after reading some of the so-called benefits i was astonished on how no research has been done. the closest to one that i found was by a botanist in 1775, thus there is not enough evidence to say whether jamu is of benefit or not~
there's evn a jamu massage and a jamu stick!
p/s: tikah told me to put more pics in the blog to make it more interesting..yes, ma'am!! i wonder what made me so interested in jamu in the first place?titibe ber TCM pulak~
