sepang motor gp

i suddenly had the urge to go to the sepang motor gp, it's going to be on the 10th of october ( as well as many weddings ). the tickets are RM 40, i just think it's something to try for once in my lifetime. i personally do not even know how to ride a motorcycle ( yet alone a bicycle, *dgn penuh malu* ) but since i would LIKE to learn and experience the adrenaline rush involved, plus it would be a nice outing~

am going with bugsys brother, insyaAllah it'll be a good experience!

topic: the challenges and opportunities in the medical profession

needless to say, the auditorium was full.it was a delightful public lecture on her experiences, on how medicine has changed throughout her years and that if there were pharmacists in University Malaya there would be another musical. i loved her experiences, especially since there were only 7 houseman at her hospital during her time and how they reduced the maternal mortality rate.

there was also a question and answer session as well in which 4 people got the chance to ask, 1st year, 4 th and 5th year MBBS ( amri was our rep ), and a pharmacy lecturer. she answered a question lingering in my mind, about the issue on doctors being too far away from home and their ailing parents and also should urban doctors go to rural areas.

open house weekend 1

so this week, i was supposed to go to Bugsys friends wedding since he has met the variety of people i call friends, i thought it was only fair for me to meet them.

it was not meant to be.

ok at first i had a family lunch at South Sea ( the seafood restaurant at the subang airport ). the lunch was fab and we had loads of fun eating the ketam but i was already late. thought of wearing a purple baju kurung in which buddy bought the kain from India but it made me look fat ( purples today theme ) so i wore my purple kebaya which i had in ages! bugsy msged me the location, but my bat was left wit two bars.

the jam was so damn irritating.

it seemed like the whole of KL decided to go out. i was stuck on the road for two hours. bugsy and his friends not only went to the wedding, but they sempat to singgah one of his friends house and i had not arrived. so after two hours on the road, and my battery went flat thus i couldn't use my GPS i drove without knowing the way to bugsys house so that we could go to our friends houses instead ( thank god i did not get lost )

i have lovely friends. the first thing i told bugsy in the car was " jln paleng cepat pegi shah alam yg xjam, xkesah tol brape" and he dutifully told me to ikot elite. halfway it was fine, then when it poured, the jam started and thus we were very late as well.

the food was marvelous!

shawa and edas house are in shah alam. shawas house had brilliant mee soup and she made delicious trifle. edas had roti jala which was so nice that i had to bring some back plus its my favourite. tikahs house is in putra heights and we had her signature carrot and chocolate cake. thought i was too full to eat the mee bandung but since it smelt so good, had to have some. shared with roi teh tarik and the desserts.

reached home at 1.30am, seems like everyone wants to be the photographer today instead of being photographed. i feel so full, i wonder how am i going to sleep..

my sincere apologies to fana, nadiah, miyayun and keenah for not being able to go to your houses :(

i guess for the past one month i thought u and me were on the same path, had the same view. but i think being a girl i expected too much and when i realized that you did not feel the same way. i felt dissapointed. i don't know whether this is caused by hormones, or whether i should feel like this. but i am trying to accept this, trying to come to terms with it. you are much more valuable to me then i will ever tell you. i honestly don't know how to show/ tell u how priceless you are to me. i hope you did not see me cry, i know it would have broken your heart. there is a reason why i gave u that video, i wanted u to see it to picture it as i did when i saw it. i just need tonight to get over it. just bear this with me, we have a long way to go...

open house

thank you everyone for coming!!

and i hope you had a fun time like i did.think that the tent did look nice at nice with the fairy lights, am sooooo pleased that ALL the people i assumed would come did and the fact that my TKC, matrix and CUCMS friends ALL came made me elated!!we celebrated nadiahs birthday as well with a pink butter cake!! i didn't eat a thing except at ejannes house..mama and papa were sooo helpful, the first people besides the family that came were 4 of zayds girlfriend and wny was like a celebrity at my house..we hung bashirahs poster at the stairs and everybody talked bout it..papas malborough and soton friends came as well.owhmygod i of course have to mention that bugsys family came too!!( scary but went well ). i was so busy that day, i don't have any pictures at all but the menu went like this ( for future reference )

pre-open house

guess which one i chose?

so we're doing an open house insyaAllah on saturday ( whoever reads this do come )..here's a check-list of things we need or needed to do:

1. grocery shopping: we went to carefour today and bought about 550 worth of groceries and had to use two trolleys ( gilakn? )



2. the menu: we have to start cooking on friday, i kinda have to make 3 Shepard pies and 150 red velvet cupcakes ( die~ )

3. the tent: uncle amir will be pasanging out tent on friday afternoon and we will have five tables set up

4. cleaning the house: this has taken at least one week to do and it's STILL in a mess, though so much better

5. cutlery cukup: so we went to ikea and bought cupcake stands, serviettes and what not.

it is very tiring to host an open house, but InsyaAllah it will be worth it

p/s: Nads got new specs and they are edgy, while i am set on a pair of Coach sunglasses!! however, bought myself some flats for school as mine sudah hancur :)

SELAMAT HARI RAYA MAAF ZAHIR BATIN!

it's already the third day of hari raya, how times goes by so fast when ur having fun
my first raya was as usual, the night before we stayed up with mama until 3 am to make 'pergedel' and had to wake up for Solat Sunat Raya by 7.30am so you can imagine how tired i was..

my papa and me ( he looks like a pengantin kn? )

my first raya usually goes like this, we go for solat raya, den rendezvous at Opah and Atoks house where we do our Salam rayas ( this year it was kinda short though and everyone had stuff to say to Bash coz she's going to UK soon, you can tell my whole family is very proud of her ). then we'll go off to nenek Chor's house to meet our other relatives. afterwards we'll go to Nenek and Yayis house to salam raya them and off to Langat to meet Opahs relatives!! i'm lucky to still have my grandparents on both sides and that they are very generous :) i'm the first cucu so i'm kinda pampered a lot..the downside was how papas car brokedown again ( for the umpteenth time in the last two weeks ) so we had to use the CRV, but no complaints there! it just ruined papas day~

on the second day of raya, we went to Atok Suhaimis house ( Opahs cousin ), then went to aunty Noras house where Nadiah was happy to meet Helinna and suprise suprise we went to........

IKEA!

yes, we went to Ikea to buy the open house stuff and bashirahs essentials before she heads of to UK, we were estatic! the conversation goes like this:

the adeks and me:" i don't wanna eat anythin at IKEA today i'm full"

a couple of minutes later at the cafe.....

" mama, i want the salmon, zayd, nadiah, bashirah and nawal want the meatballs!"

cakap tak serupa bikin.

the interesting fact about the raya in my family is that every house has a specific menu, opahs-soto, nenek chor-mee rebus,langat-lontong so we can't say no to them coz we know that they cook these dishes only once a year during Raya. so i have officially eaten enough food for one month..
where duit raya is concerned, i am actually looking forward to giving duit raya next year insyallah if i have started working. BUT as usual, i would kindly accept duit raya from others :)

taylor swift-mine

whilst resting after laying out the carpets, hanging the curtains, vacuumin and mopping ( after this we're gonna make pegedel which is like a meat dumpling with spring onions and potato ) i found this on YouTube. i love taylor swift though i admit her music style is the same and her lyrics are sometimes too sad. but i love this song and i wanna share it with u :)



p/s: i wish we could make it in 2011/2012. but i understand you need time. it just seems right to make it faster. look at the dates one more time..bt it isn't that important..

my housemates are sweethearts

goes to show how other religions respect Islam, so why shouldn't we?

my housemates Amilee and Sheena decided to be lovely ladies by making us Iftar yesterday!!
they made mash potato, scrambled eggs, baked beans, hotdog buns, chicken ham, fruit salad and fana made the mushroom soup.it was simple yet SOOOOOOOOO delicious i tell ya!

we ate and ate and burped and continued to eat :)
after that we had cake batik ( made by fara ) and trifle!!


i am so thankful to have housemates such as them..
look at fana, comel kn?? ( i asked for permission ok!! )

manhattan fish market

bonding time plus iftar!!
i haven't gone to manhattan fish market in AGES and the last time i went was with my family so i decided to go there again..we haven't been able to come up with a good date since either one of us has BST/exam/EBM/PMS every other day but we made time i guess..

they did not disappoint us!! the food was nice, the service was fabulous and the food arrived before we did :) bugsy bein a mudpie 'hantu' ( he always compares other mudpies to Chilli's molten ), this one was hard as ice because it was frozen and rich, we had trouble finishing it




for dinner, we had the grilled seafood platter for two in which the mussels were divine!!

and finished it up with little taiwans red pearl milk tea ( there's a 50% for every drink until the 3oth of September )

painting project!

new lights, yeay!!

we decided to paint the ground floor of our house today and it turned to be a family project..FUNNN!!!!!

i now have paint on my LEGS, FACE, ARMS and in zayds case, he painted his hands :)
loads of fun and family bonding in time for RAYA

cardiac arrest

ON THE FIRST OF SEPTEMBER, WAS THE FIRST TIME I DID CPR ON A MALAY MAN WHO UNFORTUNATELY SURCUMBED TO HIS DEATH..AT FIRST, I WAS REALLY SCARED TO DO IT,ALTHOUGH LEARNING HOW TO FOR MORE THEN 3 YEARS,BUT WE PUT ON OUR GLOVES AND DID OUR JOB. IT WAS A SHOCK TO HIS FAMILY,I WILL NEVER FORGET HIS WIFES FACE AS IT WAS A SUPRISE TO THEM. HE COLLAPSED AT WORK..THE IRONY OF IT IS THAT WE CONTINUED WORK AS USUAL AFTER THAT,THOUGH MY HEART WENT OUT TO THE FAMILY, I UNDERSTAND THAT WE HAVE TO BE DESENTISIZED TO THESE SITUATIONS ORELSE WE'LL END UP HAVING DEPRESSION..I WILL NEVER FORGET HOW WHILE WE HELPED ALL WE COULD,WE WERE PRAYING FOR HIM TO SURVIVE..BUT IT WAS HIS AJAL, I HOPE HE WILL BE PUT AMONGST THOSE WHO GO STRAIGHT TO JANNAH AND MAY ALLAH FORGIVE ALL HIS SINS. SORRY THAT EVERYTHING IS IN CAPS LOCK BUT I AM WRITING THIS FROM MY PHONE AND SOMEHOW EVERYTHING IS IN CAPS LOCK
